There are many different products you can use to revamp, or produce a new roof, but generally the best material is fibreglass. Below are a list of reasons why we think you should use fiberglass on you flat roof.

Security – if the worst happened, and a person tried to break into your property via the roof a slated or tiled roof would provide much easier access than fibreglass. Fibreglass is a much stronger product as the fibreglass matting and boards add reinforcement to your finished roof, therefore it becomes harder to penetrate.Fibre Glass Matting

Maintenance – when damage occurs to slates or tiles they need to be fully replaced otherwise leaks can appear. When small cracks appear on fibreglass roofs there are different products on the market that can be used. Cromapol is one item which is very simple to apply whether you are in the trade or a ‘do it yourselfer’, and will sort out any leaks.

Strength and versatility – fibreglass roofs provide great strength in any weather condition. When having to make abnormal shapes on a roof, fibreglass is a great product to use because it can be easily moulded to suit your needs.

Usability – one huge advantage of fibreglass flat roofs is that they have more than one use. Because of the finish to this product it could be use as a suntrap or somewhere to grow plants.

Safety – the flatness of fibreglass roofs enable them to be walked on safely, this is a great benefit to have if you need to check for damage.

Wildlife – roofs made from materials such as felt can be easily damaged by wildlife as well as providing access to loft space for them to reside. Overtime the damaged roof will need replacing and any damage caused inside the loft would need repairing therefore costing more money. Because fibreglass is a very hard substance to penetrate wildlife will struggle to cause any damage, therefore your fiberglass roof should last much longer than a standard roof.

Fibreglass can’t always be used as a material for your roof depending on its steepness, but it is definitely one of the best products on the market, and is very widely used throughout the industry, partly due to the above reasons.
